Denver, CO, September, 2017—United Energy Trading, LLC (UET) has a reputation for compassion and involvement in our community. Following the effects of Hurricane Harvey, UET collected, transported and distributed relief donations to Houston, Texas. An immense amount of clothing, blankets, toiletries, toys, and other items for young children were driven down immediately following the storm. With UET’s presence in the Gulf Coast energy markets, UET felt compelled and obligated to contribute what we could.
Thanks to Gabriel Garcia, an employee at UET, our employees were also able to contribute collectively, adding to the donation that was driven down to Houston—it was a firm wide effort in our Denver office. In addition to the many items collected, UET management stepped in, donating over 500 t-shirts.
Gabriel Garcia has a big connection with the Houston area explaining, “UET is very active in the USGC markets and many of my colleagues in the Houston area are personal friends, so I felt compelled to do something. Denver shelters donated at least 200 pounds of clothing, while UET followed suit with the donation drive at the office as well.” Following the collection, Gabriel personally drove a packed Uhaul full of donations, all the way to Texas. Without the selflessness of Gabriel, compassion of his coworkers, and a management team that endorses charity, such actions would have never been possible.
It is truly powerful to see so many compassionate employees step up and do what is right in a time of need.
